Matt Price was appointed as a Shelby County Election Commissioner in April 2019. He is a graduate of Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. He received a Master’s Degree in Criminology from Northeastern University in Boston. Matt is also a 2006 graduate of the Saint Louis University School of Law.
Currently, he is employed by Federal Express Corporation where he serves as Lead Legal Counsel. At FedEx, Matt works on government investigations, fraud matters and compliance initiatives. In addition to his work at FedEx, Matt has served as the Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Germantown since 2014.
Matt joined FedEx from the United States Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Tennessee, where he worked as a federal prosecutor for nearly 5 years, investigating, charging and trying a wide variety of cases. During his last years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Matt was assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force. During his tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Matt successfully argued several cases before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Matt is involved in the Memphis legal community, the Germantown Performing Arts Center and the Knights of Columbus. He was honored as "Top Forty Under 40" in 2013 by the Memphis Business Journal and "Barrister of the Year" in 2017 by the American Inn of Court.
